Salome was also a fervent fanatic: vampires were of the night by extension, the fae were abominations since their blood allows vampires to daywalk. Having had millennia to better herself, Salome showed herself as bloodthirsty as any newborn vampire viewing humans as little more than sustenance. Salome is also somewhat megalomaniacal - never doubting for an instant that she was Lilith's chosen prophetess, which ultimately sealed her fate. She doesn't hesitate however in manipulating others like Bill Compton in her own quest for greatness. Even after 2,000 years Salome still resents her mother for using her to obtain more power. Rather than simply kill the vampire 1,500 years her junior, Salome used Russell Edgington to do the deed. When it became clear that Roman would never meet the Sanguinistas halfway, Salome plotted to get rid of him. She became lovers with Roman Zimojic and soon after was named his second in command in The Authority.
Given her age, Salome is one of the world's oldest and strongest vampires, yet still resorts to using sexual wiles to obtain what she wants. Though Salome laments being painted as seductress and femme fatale she does nothing but confirm this view of her.
2.2.8 " Everybody Wants to Rule the World".An embarrassed Portia tells her to be quiet. She asks Portia if Lafayette is a boy or a girl before commenting that there were a surprising number of negroes at the service. (" Dead Meat") " Life Matters" Ĭaroline is later seen in the front row at Terry's funeral with Arlene, Portia, Andy, Coby, Lisa and Adilyn and seems to insult many of the guests. Arlene thinks this is ridiculous as Terry was killed by a gun and she leaves the room. (" I'm Alive and on Fire") Season 6 " Dead Meat" Īfter Terry is killed, Caroline, Andy, Portia and Arlene prepare to make funeral arrangements but Caroline and Arlene come into conflict when Caroline announces that Terry's funeral will include a gun salute, as per the Bellefleur family tradition. Portia is oblivious to this and Caroline insists that Bill leave immediately to which he complies. They suddenly, both realize to their shock that Bill and Portia are actually distantly related due to his daughter Sarah Compton having a child with one of the Bellefleurs. Caroline eagerly discusses her family history with Bill, asking about how well he knew her ancestors. Season 4 " I'm Alive and on Fire" īill Compton accompanies Portia to visit her grandmother. Arlene has also mentioned that the wealth of the Bellefleurs is crumbling, Andy has said something similar, mentioning that at one point Caroline's husband owned most of Bon Temps. Her Granddaughter-in-law, Arlene, describes her as a "lush", which seems to be a trait she has passed on to her grandson Andy who is an alcoholic. She is also close with her grandchildren. Her husband, along with most of her family have died, however she is very connected to her family heritage, to the point of being able to recount her family tree back several generations. During her grandson Terry's funeral, she has no problem with speaking loudly and rudely about many people present including Sookie, Lafayette and "Big John" Dickson.Ĭaroline is the matriarch of the Bellefleur family and lives in the Bellefleur mansion. She seems at first that she does not mind vampires as she allows Bill Compton to date her granddaughter until she realizes that the vampire is a part of her family tree and then asks him to not continue the relationship which Bill obliges. She seems to put up the front that she is still wealthy although the Bellefleur family has lost their large wealth some time ago. She prides herself in her family and her knowledge of her long family tree. As it turns out she is very controlling, uptight and old fashioned. At first Caroline seems very timid and family oriented.
